A complete refurbishment of a family home set within an acre of private garden in Wimledon, South London.
The project is named after the mature Indian bean tree within the courtyard and focuses on bringing natural light into the core of the house while strengthening connections to its landscape setting. A new extension and extensive glazing improve the relationship between the house and garden, opening key spaces to views and daylight. At the centre of the scheme, a sculptural spiral staircase set within a glazed link draws light deep into the plan and connects previously disjointed branches of the home.
