Edwardian House
A full refurbishment and extension of a family home in West Hampstead, reimagined to support 21st-century living while retaining and enhancing the character of the original Edwardian building.
Conceived as a complete transformation, the project involved a full internal reconfiguration alongside a series of carefully integrated extensions. A new basement level accommodates a traditional sauna, gym, and media room, while a large ground floor extension forms the heart of the home with a new bespoke kitchen and family living space. A new library provides a quieter retreat within the house. Original Edwardian detailing was carefully reinstated and complemented by new, finely crafted elements throughout. Bespoke joinery is integrated across the home contributing to a calm, uncluttered interior.
Driven by our client’s commitment to sustainability, the house was extensively retrofitted to improve its environmental performance. We collaborated with experts to integrate a ground source heat pump to provide efficient heating and air conditioning throughout. This was complemented by solar panels and a rainwater harvesting system
